Community Champions at Work

Architectural drawing by MQN Architects in Vernon, BC

Vikki Topping of MQN Architects in Vernon, BC is a Community Champion and the design lead on the Kwas House project. Vikki consistently goes the extra mile and sharpens her pencil for community based housing initiatives. The efforts of Vikki and her MQN team make a significant difference to an initiative like Kwas House. The benefit is design expertise, professional management, and a patient understanding of the requirements of a community-based housing development. Vikki has created an attractive, cost-effective, and fully functional 14-plex with four accessible suites that will provide quality assurance and comfort for adults with cognitive disabilities and community-minded seniors for decades.

Attractive

Kwas house is a three-story residential structure built with materials chosen to be attractive, durable, and environmentally responsible. Each suite has a private balcony or outdoor space with views of the mountains surrounding the City of Hope.

Functional

Functionality is built into all aspects of the design of Kwas House. The building is constructed to maintain a comfortable temperature year round. Each suite has a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious bathroom and a comfortable living room.
